Sudin and Suden

Submitted by Sudin

Buried here is the greatest concentration of my family name known in the world. Sudin (sometimes spelled Suden) is a rare name in the Jewish world, and as a sixth generation American I know very little about my family’s heritage beyond the fact that they lived in Chicago approximately from the 1840’s – 1940’s, when my grandfather married and moved to St. Louis, Missouri. My great-grandfather, Hyman Sudin, had a general store of some kind, though I do not know in what neighborhood.
